I have had a huge amount of success with the wacky rig lately. Anybody else have the same? What type of bait do you use if you ever wacky rig?

Senko or finesse worm.

Very nice! Yum dingers/senkos/finess worms/LFT ring frys. Try a more vertical hook set with wacky rigs, with a side sweep, sometimes the plastic worm will get between the hook and the fish.

Was wondering when you were gonna set the hook on that first fish about the 1:08 mark. That fish had that bait for a while bud! LOL

I mostly use a Zoom finesse or Trick worm.

There is a weedless wacky rigged finesse worm "way down there"

Wayne, what is that black strip over the hook eye? That is a interesting rig. I want to try it. Please explain how to rig it.

I wacky fish more than anything else,, especially in grass!! I use the Gamakatsu Weedless finesse hook and I ALWAYS insert a nail into the head(I like it to fall head first and stand on end at the bottom). If less than 8' of water, I usually cut the nail in half. I mainly use 7" finesse worms but will throw a yum dinger if they want something a little fatter.

4 inch size G.Y. Senko, 2/0 VMC wacky weightless weedless hooks

And I started fishing them on an ultra-light with 8 lb test -- now I can feel if a fish even swims by and farts near my senko

That black thing is 1/4" electrical heat shrink tubing. I use that to keep the hook eye from pulling out of the worm in cover (docks, timber, vegetation, etc).
A killer on Fork.
The rigging is like Tx rigging in the middle. Start the hook point in the tubing, on in about 1/2 of the worm, out from under the tubing, pull the hook eye under the tubing and put the hook point in the worm.

The hook is the Gammy Octopus 3/0 #02413 for Trick worms

Start like this:

I use the same style with finesse worms but in the 2/0 size #02412
Finesse worm without the tubing weedless and exposed hook point
