Ok here's the options you have muddy/stained water with spare vegations/pads on the lower end shallow end of the lake and you have cleaner/clear water on the upper end. What would you chose to fish. I know we all have our strong and weak points of fishing and we are all faced with these decisions at game time. So how many of you would go to the shallow end and hope for a big bite and who would stay on tyhe deep/clear end and pick up a limit. There are two ways you can look at this. One is get your limit first then go shallow or go for the home run and the win before someone else get to the spot. Sorry forgot some important info. It's late spring, water temp in the mid 70's and there is on and off cloud cover all day and a slight chop on water.

Clear water is the only way to go this time of the year. what lake is this????? never really seen any with that discription. Clear in the creeks and stained in the deeper water?

I would take the chance of clear water and get a limit then run back and look for the chance to cull up. Hardly ever have I seen a tournament won with one or two fish.

Start in the clear water and work my way into the murky water, unless I'm getting lot's of bites. Then I'd stay in the clear.

That certainly sounds like a good description of LL, except for the water temps in the mid 70's. That lake is terribly muddy right now, after all that rain. I was out yesterday and couldn't buy a bite. I did see several gar spawning in the grassy shallows. You can hear them spawning from 100 yards away. Those gar were all over the lake!

Sounds like Pines to me.

I would go north to the muddy water and flip the shallow flooded brush. The rising muddy water should push them as shallow as they can get.

Depends on if the dirty water is always dirty. If it is then it will be fine. If it's usually clear and just got dirty, avoid it. Rule of thumb is clear water in the clouds and wind, dirty water when it's sunny.
