Reposting here because I haven't got a single reply on the Rods & Reels forum since posting 2 days ago.

I have a couple old Revos and Bantam Curados with centrifugal braking systems and am having a bit of trouble with the settings staying in place. I usually like to have only 2 brakes engaged but after a couple long casts I start losing distance and can tell that more of the brakes have engaged. So after every 30ish minutes of casting I will end up having to take off the side plate and turn off the (usually 2 extra) random brakes that kicked on. Then of course my feel for the reel is all messed up so usually the first cast after readjusting leads to a huge bird nest.

Is there something I am doing wrong? I always turn on the brakes so that they are symmetrical even though I don't think that would cause this. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The brake tabs may be worn out. You can try replacing them.

Take all brakes off but the two you need.

Sounds like you have an issue if the brakes are setting themselves after a few casts. You should have them looked at to see what exactly the problem is or just get you some Lews reels instead.
