Fishing Squaw Creek for the first time. What are your opinions/reports, please (bass fishing)?

I haven't been down there since January. I would think every lake in the area is fishing better than squaw. Granbury right up the road is fishing great and no launch fee.

Ive heard its a great top water lake in April. I would start on points near deep water and throw a walking bait

Fished there twice last week but was very windy so tough fishing main lake points. We caught good numbers up to 5pounds on submerged timber at the outer edge of the pockets. 2nd day was fog delay so we were stuck in boat ramp cove all morning. Still caught them but had to drop shot in deeper water off the timber.

I posted in another thread but thought I would again.
They are keeping you in the cove if there are high winds.

Thanks for the information. Launch fee is quite high on Squaw Creek, $30 per day. If the fishing is good I don't mind that too much, but if not I'll just stick with Weatherford, Mineral Wells or Granbury.

Are there even any fish in Mineral Wells? I have fished that lake so many times over the years. I just don't think there are any fish in it.
