Dobyns has their Champion XP 706cb rod designed for topwater and walking baits but it has your typical parabolic bend throughout the rod. Conventional widsom is to have a fast tip for top waters...
Anybody have experience with this rod for topwater?
If you can't find em wind em.

I use their 705cb fiberglass and 705cb graphite for topwaters and I love them.
Feels perfect to me and I lose very few fish.

I tied some walkers on my 704c and it felt just fine but wondered if I would need just a little more power in a 705 maybe. I have a 705cb so I’ll throw my top water set up on that rod and test it out. Thanks!
If you can't find em wind em.

The 705cb feels way better than the 704cb to me.
The 704cb felt like a completely wet noodle.

I love throwing a gunfish 95 on the 763c. Also love throwing a buzzbait on it. I like it better than the 704 or 705, personally, for walking baits.
