We canceled our benefit tournament on Lake Whitney today.....High winds and 36 degrees killed it.

Who all fished in tournaments today and on what lakes?

Would you do it again?

I fished one today. Started out with 46 degree temps and 20+ mph winds. Ended with 35 degrees temps and 18-20 mph winds, with sleet pellets.

It was not my ideal conditions, but the fish bit real good.

I will do a tourney in whatever conditions there is that day. It is what it is.

I've fished opens all across the country....I've left the house for weeks at a time and a few it was raining when I loaded up to leave....raining when I got home...and didn't stop for two weeks.

No day is promised to anyone ... take em how you get em.

I fished TTZ on Belton today. it was probably one of the most brutal and soul crushing days of fishing I've experienced. 12 hours of 20-30mph wind, thick fog, rain, and a wind chill temperature in the 30s.

We came in 88th out of 171 teams. 3 fish for 10.27. We had a 5 pounder, 4 pounder, and a 1 pounder. Caught probably 30 fish total. Maybe more, but just could not find many keepers

My hats off to you for braving those conditions.

Champs ray roberts ... 212 teams. 21# to win. It was not too bad. Lots more fish than I thought. But keepers where harder to find.

On my way to the jobsite Saturday morning, it appeared a kayak tournament was taking place on Lake Worth around Casino on 199. Many trucks were pulling out all at the same time with kayaks in the back. I thought they probably cancelled. Then on my way home going over the lake on 820, I look out and saw several kayaks in the reeds on the south side of the bridge towards the base. It must have allowed them to trail. Ha.

We don't cancel. It was a Autism Awareness benefit tournament. We had 72 guys braving the wind in little plastic boats. The tournament was fished in Lake Worth and Eagle Mountain. Saturday was a great day to be on the lake. I pulled a 5.82 at 22.75 that I thought would get big bass, I got outdone. All in all was a great day. We raised a little over $2,000 for autism research.

Fished Bass Champs on Ray Roberts. Guess I have just gotten used to fishing in all weather through the years, didn't think it was that bad at all even in this 65 year old body. Just wish I could remember how to catch some decent fish. Got a great boater partner that even made the run to our starting spot dry and comfortable and that makes a huge difference.
