I bought a couple of "medium" rods that turned out to have a moderate action (wasn't looking for that), does anyone use them and what do you use them for? Wondering if i can find use for them or not. I mostly beat the banks. one is 7' the other is 7'4"

Anything with treble hooks would go great with those rods.

Medium and moderate go well together. It means these rods' lifting points are closer to your rod-operating hand which effectively shortens the lever, gives an angler more power over a fish, not less. (This compared to, say, a Medium Heavy with an extra fast tip.)

And, a properly loaded rod "pins" the fish better, less likely to jump or otherwise straighten the rod out and shake off the hook.

So, actually more lifting power, more casting distance, too, pins the fish better to the hook, and a different hook set that works better for certain presentations.

Suggestions above all seem spot on to me!

Brad

With the Ike name on them they make 2# fish turn into 10# fish. Side effects include running from bow to stern yelling like a madman every time you catch a fish.

Amen! He's ridiculous and a royal jerk on top of it! I wouldn't own anything with his name on it if it was given to me!
