I fish a clear one-acre municipal pond with bass to about three pounds. From spring through fall, I have success with a wacky rig, but in winter not so much. I'm told that the bass are likely in the middle of the pond during winter.
When I use a Texas-rig, a jig, a drop-shot, a shaky head, or anything that sinks, the lure gets hung up in the coontail weeds that carpet the bottom of the pond. What lures can I use to catch bass in winter in this pond? Thanks.

Drop shot with a 2-3 foot leader between weight and hook. Keeps your worm up off of bottom work it in real slow.
Thanking the lord for another day on the water

Beetle Spin remove the small jig head and replace with one just a little larger to hold a small Swim Tail minnow. I like the Kline minnows as they are round and not flat. On a good warm sunny day they will become more active. Sometimes they like the flash of the small single spin. Sometimes they just want the Swim Tail Minnow on as light of weight as possible; but with a good hook to get the job done.
I will also BB Shot a Fineness Worm to make longer cast and just reel it back ever so slowly ticking the top of the grass. It seems to work better than a Weightless Senko, although you can cast the Senko a longer distance and it will come through the grass with ease. I have some hand poured Senko's that are a tad smaller diameter for a smaller profile just for that application.
Each person you work with holds some promise to your future success.
