Quick question. How come I don't see many tournament wins mention soft plastic stick baits: Senkos, Stick os etc....

Maybe they just mention the popular names on the way to the win, but it seems that these baits must be key to the wins day in and day out...

Thoughts?

Certainly they play a part in winning. You put a great stringer together 9 months out of the year with a variety of baits and techniques; so there are no mention of the 5 or 6 baits that produced the winning stringer.

Those that win consistently during these 9 months have shallow water fish, mid-range fish and deep water fish. They go to each of these areas in the process of one day and execute the technique needed to put the fish in the boat which calls for several different baits. The other 3 months is the spawn and this is the time of year that you will hear of that one bait used during the day that won the tournament and it is very seldom a Senko that wins. I have won on one many times using a Drop Shot and skinny hand poured Senkos on the beds.

Each person you work with holds some promise to your future success.
