I'm headed to visit some relatives for Labor Day, will be pulling the boat from Western Ok. and have never fished the area before. Would love some advise on what lake might be turned on this time of year. Was thinking about Eagle Mountain due to its close proximity to my family's house, but was also thinking of Ray Roberts. I know being Labor Day weekend, there will be a ton of people at every lake, just kind of wondering where I'd have the best chances of numbers with some but also chances of decent size bass too. Any help would be appreciated.

Ray Roberts is a better choice less traffic on the lake and great fishing.
Eagle mountain is ok but between the 20 bucks to launch and all the pleasure boaters go north!

I'd recommend Marine Creek. Strictly fishing there, no skiers, wakeboarding.

I would go to Ray Roberts and launch at Jordan or Buck Creek since the lower end of the lake will be more crowded on Labor Day weekend. You must go slow due to submerged timber. Try topwater like a buzz bait early then a tx rigged baby brush hog. It's a pretty lake, although not an easy lake, but you will probably get some bites.

Ray Roberts hand's down in the Buck Creek area with the baits already suggested. However white bass on EM has been amazing the past few week's South of the Island. thumb peep

Thanks guys, I'll plan on heading to Ray Roberts. Is there any charge for using the boat ramps, and does it have well established boat lanes. Where is safe to run on pad and where will I need to idle? From the Google earth view it looks like the North end has a ton if timber. How is the water clarity and temps. I wish I had more time to really scope it out, but I'll only have 1 day to really fish. Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't run north east of the island if you don't know it. The better fishing is up that way right now so be careful.

If you're wanting to stick some fish go to Bridgeport. Wide open lake and excellent numbers right now
