I am wondering what sort of effect a late summer rain will have?

First off, how much do you expect the rain and the lower air temps over the next week or so to affect water temps? With falling water temps and rising water, would you expect the shad to start migrating to the backs of the pockets soon?

I doubt if you see a drastic change in the water temps until we start having nighttime temps down in the 70's and even 60's. Also as the days get shorter you will have less daytime sun but that is a couple of months down the road. I always like any rain, especially this time of year and rising water just because it will seem to bring more fish into shallow flooded brush and grass.

I don't think temps will change much but a couple feet of water could get them moving. I don't know why but it's starting to feel like fall is close so I wouldn't be surprised if they start scattering out soon
