Well, I hate to see you not get an answer so here goes.
I've fished that lake for at least 50 years.
A few years ago, most of the West Tex lakes water levels came up, including Pk. It flooded all of that old shoreline vegatation, so I am still staying in that new growth area.

The bass have been active shallow for me ever since first of the year. Anywhere you find flooded brush, especially with that strange grass that grows in PK, stop and fish it. You will find it out to about 8-9 '.
I fished it Saturday between the storms, and the fish are still shallow in the brush. Boat docks are still producing, but I'm having better luck in the brush.
As far as lures, I either fish on top, or on the bottom. I keep three worm rods on deck, one weighless, one with a 1/8 oz slip sinker and one with a 3/16th slip sinker depending on where they are in the water column.
Also have a Zara on deck as well as a drop shot for the docks.
There are other ways of catching them on PK but this is my way, and so far, I'm the only one that's giving up their secrets.....
Good luck, it's a beautiful lake.
Also keep a slab or a jig on deck for those sandies and stripers that school all over the lake.

If you can't catch'em after that you need to stay home. Excellent report WTA and right on the money. thumb

I was out there a couple of months ago and caught several good one flipping watermelon baby brush hogs in the dense cover. Also caught a few schoolers on a chatterbait. All around the possum hollow area.

I don't fish out there as much has I use to but it is a great lake.

Best of luck.

It's been a month but I caught them from the bank out to deep trees in 30'. Couldn't really pattern them at all. Caught almost all of them on a texas rigged craw and Ol Monster. Color didn't seem to matter at all. I started using whatever was laying in the bottom of the boat just to get rid of it.

Does anyone really fish north of Costello any more? I am sure there are fish to be caught north, but that part of the lake seems less active than the mid lake to the lower end. Just curious if anyone has had any luck up toward the Rock Creek area and Waco Bend.

No thx necessary. BTW, that's a real clear lake so start early and stay late. Might even fish some at night

I haven't fished the lake much but was there last Saturday, the fish were pretty active early..in deep water areas around rocky points...had luck with weighted plastics...then it was fishing boat docks with plastics...the docks were in deep water so the bass were hanging underneath them....just throwing the fluke...worm whatever with a 1/4 ounce more or less weight and letting it fall...and jerking it back to the boat...consistently caught fish until the boat traffic ran us off the lake...we were fishing in the south end between the dam and the boy scout camp...didn't go any further north...If you are going on Saturday get out as early as you can...the boat traffic was just crazy starting about 10 am..

Thank you WTA for giving a straight answer. When I joined the Forum if you asked a question, you got an answer. Today you mostly get BS.

When the prespawn time comes around I will throw swim jigs all around Costello to catch those big females pissed off at bluegills that just moved up. I really do not fish above Costello because I don't enjoy fishing water with that chocolate milk clarity. Doesn't mean you can't catch fish out there I just do not enjoy it. I focus all of my shallow water flipping efforts up the major creeks this time of year. Just my $.02

Thanking the lord for another day on the water
