Braid size for swimming 1/4oz Jigs on a casting reel fishing pretty heavy cover?

30-50# should do it. Depends on what type of cover you're fishing.

30-50# should do it. Depends on what type of cover you're fishing. ^^^This. Whatever # you get, set the drag light. Setting the hook with heavy drags and braided line in heavy cover has broken many rods.

I just tie my braid directly to the spool. Now, if your spool doesn't have holes for this then that's another story.
