Recently boat a ranger with a lowrance hds 12 in the console and it worked for about a week. Now the sonar is nothing but a blur of red and down scan only works if I reset the system back to factory. Every time I take it out I have to reset back to factory to get it to work for a while.

Side note. My evinrue e-tech also keeps having the hot alarm go off when I get on plane. It only does it ever other trip or so. And if I stop for 30 seconds it goes away and never comes back. Please help!

you have checked the oil level in your reservist right (2 stroke only)? just a thought.. it might be the low oil light instead of the high heat alarm. you have icon gauges? they usually tell you. if you get on plane with low oil the boat is tilted upward. the sensor in the oil tank may be at the front causing it to think it is low on oil.
