Pecos River and Devils Rivers, both Rio Grande tributaries that run into Lake Amistad are two of the best smallmouth fisheries in the world and here they are in southwest Texas. Both can be "trips of a lifetime" but are logistically difficult due to limited put-ins and take-outs. Absolute gems. Want largemouth and Guadalupe bass and a river that is easier access? Hard to beat the Llano River from Junction to Llano or the South Llano River just above Junction.

You can catch smallmouth and largemouth in Canyon lake and guads in the Guadalupe River down here.
