Have been going to Natchitoches the first weekend in Oct. For the past 4 years. Love the town. I live Palestine, TX. I have rented homes on the water in the past. This was my first time on the water. Wife and i rode on a tour boat with Capt. Tom ( great guy). Rode from Natchitoches northward to the earthen dam. Such a beautiful piece of nature. Noticed what appeared to be a high school tourney on the water at the time. I have never taken my boat. I was wondering if anyone has fished the lake and their thoughts? I have fished from the bank of our rental house, just to wet a hook and smoke a cigar. Again, love Natchitiches. Look forward to your responses about Cane River Lake fishing.

I have actually heard it can be pretty good, I know of a guy who goes around Christmas and catches some chunks on a jig. He doesn't catch giants but 3-4 pounders. Good Luck
