All tournament fishermen should be familiar with all rules of tournament at all time
Especially you high schoolers, and boat captains.
If you have a boat captain that is not familiar with the rules and he breaks one it will disqualify you.so please make sure you know the rules. And make sure your captain knows the rules. As far as I know there haven't been many disqualifications for small issues but from listening to people it will start to head that way. And it only takes someone taking a pic of you breaking a rule or complaining and you will have issues.
I am absolutely not the type of guy to do that but they are out there and I would hate for one of you guys to get disqualified for some rule infraction.
Here are some examples of what I have seen that could be disqualifications
Not properly seated while big motor running
Wake through no wake zone
No life jackets while big motor running
Culling dead fish
Having more than one rod in water per person
Again this is more to make you guys aware of the issues so you don't get in trouble
Just trying to help you out.
Good luck to all!! And above all have fun!!

Thanks for posting Hog. The one I more than anything is the first one "properly seated when big motor running". I hear this complaint at just about every single tourney. Simply no excuse, I don't care how inexperienced a captain is.
Everything on your bass boat is broken......You just don't know it yet.

Some of the thighs the OP listed are not only a violation of rules, but are violations of some state laws...

Read the rules and understand them. A simple violation could cost you everything you spent all day trying to accomplish.

Please read and follow the rules, it also states the following.
Each contestant, boat captain, and team advisor agrees to report any rule violation to the tournament director immediately upon discovery of the violation. Failure to report violations may be cause for disqualification.
With that said, politely tell someone if you see them violating a rule and then if they still continue, then inform us. We hear people mention the things listed above , yet way after a event is over.
The THSBA, is not in the business of DQing teams just because we like too. That is the worst thing to have to do, trust me. I've done it at a Regional event last year when kids were sitting on the front deck as they drove by the weigh in area. It stinks to have to tell them. On the other hand, if he would have fell off the prop would have gotten him, so I would rather DQ for a safety violation than deal with the other possibilities.
It is up to everyone, boat captains, students, team advisors and us to spread the word. We do what we can.

Wow, couple threads going, a class lol. I have fished 3 so far and have not seen anything to be that worked up about. If anything I think some may have an unrealistic idea about how much room they get. I'm not saying it's much to do about nothing but I just haven't seen it as an issue so far. This sounds like all the crying after a bass champs.
