He did qualify for the Elites since Pipkens and Avena are already on the elite roster. Wonder if he'll make the jump.

Pipkens was actually out of the Elites after this year due to his history AOY rank. Winning the points title in the Opens allows him to "stay in". So from my understanding one of the 5 spots is used for Pipkens

Looks like Wheeler had already qualified in the south. So he may be in.

Jr. Might have qualified for the elites. Wheeler had qualified thru the southern and Evena is already qualified. I hope he made it .

Wheeler has a higher ranking on the Northern so his Southern will go to the next one in line and they will use his Northern from what I understand.

I was pulling for him too. He's a super nice guy and a damn good fisherman. Charlie Hartley told me when Jr was kid he use to wash his boat for him when he would miss the cut and Alton Sr. was still out there fishing.

The way I understand it is only the top 5 get invitations. If someone double qualifies then that person's invitation goes to someone already on the Elites that did not requalify through Elite AOY points, not to the next place finisher in the open divisions.
