Would you be more likely to buy soft plastics infused with scent or soft plastics with no scent at all?
Thanks in advance for the responses.

Often wonder the same thing. Given the choice I always go with scented.

We have several different smaller companies that do both and some even do both in one package. Some people like it "infused" in the plastic and some like it "wet" in the bag. The most common customer desire is to have it coated outside so they KNOW it has the scent. If it is JUST in the plastic often times the anglers do not have as much confidence that it is there and that it works. Ron Kick'n Bass Attractants

Unscented when possible. I want Minnow on fast moving plastics and spinner bait skirts. I use Night Crawler on slow moving plastics and finesses baits for drop shots. The Crayfish or Craylic on jig skirts, creature baits in and around heavy cover like grass. Bags can be dosed with each and works just as well. I like my guy that does my pouring to dose the bags while the plastics are still warm.
Pouring plastics with scent in the pour becomes difficult sometimes as it changes the chemical structure of the pour. Just the weather that day of the pour will make a difference. When you think you have the exact drops per pour right; the next day it all falls apart. This makes it very difficult to get enough scent in a pour to really make a difference. I want lots of scent for handling the baits to kill the human odor. Pouring in a controlled environment helps this situation a lot.

I will not fish a soft bait of any type without a scent whether from mfg. or sprayed on. Several years ago I made a trip to Fork and was fishing way up Birch Creek. The lake was low and the water was gin clear. I was throwing a spinnerbait along the creek channel. I could easily see the bottom of the channel. I have several bumps on the spinnerbait and thought it was a crappie or small bass. When the spinnerbait got closer I saw the largest bass I have ever seen in my life swimming behind the bait. She was would just nip at the blades. I have caught a 12lb and been in the boat with a 14lb caught and it dwarfed both of these. When she got close to the boat she turned away from the spinnerbait and slowly sunk to the bottom of the creek. I picked up a June Bug lizard and flipped in ahead of her and walked it down the slope. She immediately swam over to it, turned vertical, and nosed up against the bait. She stayed there for what seemed like 10 min, but was probably only 10 sec. She would not take the bait. When I twitched it she would surge at it, but again only nosed up to it. Finally she turned and swam slowly back down the creek.
This all happened 6 ft. below me. To this day I believe she was smelling the bait. I was using a generic lizard with no scent. Now I keep 2 or 3 different scents in my boat. When I first buy a bag of worms and open them I will spray them in the bag. I don't know if it helps but it gives me peace of mind
John K Fontenot Diapers and Politicians need to be changed often; and for the same reason.

I usually prefer a bait being internally scented. But if they aren't or even just as an "extra" I will add either garlic or coffee scent. More of a confidence thing I think than any other reason. Coffee one smells good too for when you handle the bait and it gets on your fingers lol!!

I prefer infused scent, but that's just because it'll save some money for having to buy a bottle of scent.
