So I just can't seem to find a good bass fishing spot from the bank. I always have to go fishing with friends who have a boat so I can actually get some success. I'm just looking for a spot that doesn't require a boat and is in the dfw metroplex. Preferably around southlake or grapevine but I would be willing to drive a bit. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Check out the Bank Fishing forum. They have a map of locations in the area.

The trinity river in downtown Fort Worth by panther island pavilion. You can literally catch 20 2-4 pounders in a few hours.

Do you stand on the beach and cast between the paddle boats and kayaks?

Google maps is a good tool to locate water.

Town Lake in Prosper, Tx... Worth the drive, beautiful old lake.

Denton has some nice ponds too.

Little community lakes and ponds are where its at if you're fishing from the bank. I wouldn't bother with any major lakes.

As suggested, Google maps is your friend. A lot of the ponds that aren't actually public are the best. Ask the owner if you can fish it. Tell them that you will release anything you catch and you won't leave anything behind (trash) and some will let you fish. If you're taking a kid fishing, you've got a better chance of getting a "yes"

Google the area he suggested fishing. It's a rec. area with a beach and paddle boat rentals. It's a scam. His idea of a joke.

I am 100% aware of what area he is talking about. And if you don't think his comment is true then you are extremely mistaken. There are also banks you can walk along and fish away from the beach and kayak rental shop.

Not sure how his comment is a "scam"

He said " by the Panther Island Pavilion ", didn't say anything about walking away from the beach. You think the paddle boats and kayaks stay right in front of the beach. Don't think so. They scatter both ways so be prepared to walk a long long way.

I kayak fish the Trinity River near there. Exactly how many kayaks and paddle boards do you think are on the water at a given point? roflmao

There have been many days when I only saw 2 or 3 other kayaks when fishing for hours. You don't have to walk far at all. You can literally park on Taylor St, and walk along the clear fork bank and fish for days.
