ok I need some thoughts from the group here.
I have recently been pulling the hook on a lot of fish on hollow body frogs. I feel like I have a decent set up (high speed Revo SX reel, 50 pound braid, Heavy Duckett Micro magic 7'6" rod). I am using Spro and Ish Phat Frogs. Freaking hooks on that Phat frog are sharp. In my mind I feel like I am giving the fish time before I hit 'em but I have pulled the hook on three decent fish on the last two trips and I have not had that level of misses before. I know with some blowups they don't really get the frog but these three felt stuck. Maybe my hook set is weak. Anyone using XH rod for frogs?
Other ideas are welcome.

Bend the hook points outward just a hair. Do this by grabbing the hook just above the bend, between the hook point and bend of the hook shank. Bend each hook point slightly outward from the bend. This will have your hook points in the striking position instead of laying flat against the side of the frog. And it will still come through the slop just fine. Nothing wrong with your set-up.

Bend the hooks out some, otherwise that is just part of frog fishing

the action of the rod depends on if youre fishing mats or open water. I use a Veritas MH-H for mats and a Dobyns 735 MH for open water. If you're giving them time to eat your frog, you could have a couple different issues. I would try bending out your hooks about 1/8". That allows it to get around the plastic off the bait. If you do it too far, it will not be nearly as weedless. For a popping frog/open water frog, I bend them out a little further. I also like a rattle if it's not calm out. That helps them key in. I also trim the legs down so it's a smaller profile and they get more of the body and less of the legs.
Over just about all these other tips, I try to make sure I can feel the weight of the fish on the frog before I set the hook. Basically give them a tiny bit of slack and wait for them to load you up and then stick em hard.
Hope this helps!

I hardly miss them when frog fishing. When one takes it, I lower my Rod, let him eat it, feel for him, and pop him like I'm worm fishing.

50/50... If you have done good for a while, your hook-up odds are just catching up with you! You have good advice above.

I suggest bending the hook out a little bit. Also, a medium-heavy is better suited for frogs. I know for a fact that Dean Rojas suggests using a 7ft, medium-heavy rod for frogs. But I'm tall so I use a 7'3" medium-heavy, just because it feels more comfortable to me. To each his own on the preferred length of the rod. But I promise you that a medium-heavy will perform a little better than a heavy or extra-heavy. The medium-heavy will help the bait walk better and it'll add some delay to your hook-set, which is what you want.

Rods too stiff try a Duckett 7'3 med heavy 65lb braid its the perfect frog rig. Depends if he's fishing matted vegetation or not. In the case of matted, H or XH rod is required to get them out after you hook them. MH is great for shoreline and less dense cover.

I was having that issue Sunday afternoon, had 8-10 that I felt and they would not stay hooked up. Got out my punching rod and started flipping the same area and ended catching a lot of fish.
Some days they just are not getting the frog well enough. It's not a crime to put it down and try something else.

Thanks for the scoop guys. I really appreciate it. I am fishing very thick vegetation on Caddo Lake. It is the only place I fish and is getting to the point a frog is almost all you can throw in some areas. I need something stout to try to keep them out of that [censored] as best I can. It sucks hooking a big fish and then pulling up nothing but 10 pounds of grass.
