Well with all the recent rain and with more coming I thought it would be a good time to see what eveyone likes to use in muddy water. I have had a little success with a white/chartruse chatterbait, or flipping a junebug or black/red flake brush hog.

hmm. Tough question. For numbers probably a rattle trap. For larger fish a black spinner bait with a short arm and single large gold Colorado style blade slow rolling in the shallows and around the edges of weed lines, docks, and other structure. Crankbaits also have served me well in heavily stained water. I always have a texas rig on one rod for short hits or if I find a spot holding several fish. Or a jig. Heck, I told you that was a tough question! lol

Post spawn high muddy water--as long as I don't see a bunch of carp and gar spawning shallow, I'll start with shallow cover Lots of good options mentioned above. Chatterbait with a bulky trailer that moves a lot of water has to be up there as my favorite.

Never had success fishing shallow when they are doing their thing. I never really thought about it much but I have to agree. When the gar and carp tearing up the shallows I usally dont catch many bass. And that only took me 40 years of bass fishing to figure that out! Hehe

D&M Pirahna II Definitely this vibrating jig right here. I LOVe this bait! I've caught a lot of quality fish in muddy water, and the majority have come on this bait. The vibration and flash really help the fish key in on the bait when it's muddy. Also, these baits are truly custom made with quality components. Can't go wrong with one of these!
