Am I the only one who actually prefers black and white over color. And you can only find black and white on lower end units.
I find a black and white screen easier to read-has the world passed me by.
Recently found an Eagle 480 pixel unit on EBay for $60 and bought it-the temp gauge went out on mine.

No, I am color blind so I don't mind black and white at all. When I look at the color graphs, the colors mean nothing to me. You can change the newer graphs and use already a grey scale, but I think mine has a black and white setting also.
My side imaging fives me problems distinguishing fish. I gave up trying to look for them now I just use it for structure

Mine has the option of 12 different colors. Grey scale is one of them.
Eat. Sleep. Fish.

But do you find yourself using the black and white more than the color?

Unless you're color blind, the color graphs are way easier to distinguish soft & hard items.

But do you find yourself using the black and white more than the color? I use the color. I'm gave up trying to determine hardness, I just am searching for the arcs in 2D. I just choose a color palette that is pleasing to the eye. I think the color screens show better in bright light to me. I could care less what the colors mean. Something that I have always dealt with my entire life so I don't even think about it.
