Has anyone been a marshal for the Elite Series? I am in for Bass Fest on Texoma, pretty excited. Curious of other experiences....

done it about four times- be sure not to get in the way, empty bladder before you get on boat! wear appropriate clothing and make a list of the most important things you want to ask or watch for. Most of the guys are stand up guys that are happy to answer any questions, just dont talk their heads off- they are there to win money and need to focus! they cannot take any form of tips from you so dont offer any fishing advice! You will love it- it is a great experience.

Also- if they ask you to back the truck in- be ready to use side mirrors- most all have campers that you cannot see through!

I agree with all that skeeter said. I've signed up for every Texas event since it started on Amistad in 2009. (I think) Great experience and time well invested. I would add to be respect of the pros fishing locations as long as the tournament is still active.
Enjoy!

If you can stand sit in the back of the boat for 8+ hours and not make a cast it's alright. Have a bunch of buddies that won't do it again. I like it.

It would kill me. Be in a boat, with an Elite, on a lake, during a tourney.....AND NOT GET TO FISH!!!!

It would be like taking a crackhead to a crackhouse without letting them smoke up!!! Brutal tease if you ask me.

I was one for the Amistad tournament. It was a real learning experience. I got to go out with 3 different pros and learned something different from each. Bring a camera and take pictures. Make sure you have the appropriate clothing for all weather possibilities. Bring a few snacks and some water.

And, under no circumstances, never open the livewell to look at the fish. one of the pros jumped all over me for doing that; apparently a fish jumped out of the livewell and back into the lake when an observer opened the door to take a look.

I would do it again for sure.

I enjoyed it for two days, probably couldn't do three. I would do it again.

The Elite Series on Toledo in May will be my first time to be one. I am looking forward to the opportunity.
