First Illinois Bass Federation tournament of 2016 was held on Lake Egypt near Marion, Illinois on March 20th. Brutal weather conditions of a mix of heavy snow, rain and wind even though it was the first day of Spring.

I have been to this lake 5 times now and every time it has been cold and snowed. Also got hit by lightning there too. Below is a short clip of the weekend.

Hit by lighting? Glad you're well enough to keep fishing. I would stay away from that lake.

Happened in the late Fall of 2010. Cloudy day. No rain or thunder. 1 bolt of lightning struck a tree near the bank and a pretty blue flash shot across the water, up my line and then there was a bright white light. I thought I was a goner. Left elbow was sore for about a month afterwards. Now I can detect a thunder from miles away and I am not long on the water if I see it is nearby.
