I remember before the ""now style's"" of swimbaits, guys threw the old monster AC plugs on Fork.
I recall thinking they were ridiculous looking, I knew guys that made them out of broom handles, and screen door hardware.. LMAOOO but they would catch some monster bass. I never used one, prolly my loss, the lake had huge Bass in almost every creek back then.. Anyone have any pictures, I can kind of see them in my mind but not clearly. Been a long time..

Do you rememeber how much they cost ? $ 20+ bucks, which was outrageous back then..

I threw them and we all thought they were the bomb back then. Caught lots of big bass on them.

We always laughed about going home and cutting up the closet poles to make some more lures. I have a knock version also made by Mike ?

Not sure of the last name. I put new hooks on it just a few days ago. I have a picture of it and the Castaic Trout from about 20 years ago.

Caught fish over 10 lbs on both. Funny how far swim baits have came. It is not a new game at Fork like a lot of people think.

They have been here at Fork for a while but most people kept it quite.

I have a whole box of them sitting in storage, both sizes. We would use them up north muskie fishing, only one I ever saw thrown down here was on Ivie and the guy caught a 6-7lb on it.

When I worked in Vegas back in 2012 I used to chat with A.C. about the big stripers on the Colorado. He caught some monsters below Hoover often.

Best day I ever had on Fork was throwing the AC Plug. I'll dig it out and shoot a picture for you, Billy. Still have some of those Castaic Shad and Bream too. I thought it insane spending $20.00 a piece for them back then.

You want one? I just keep 'em around as a conversation piece, ha. I used to have the smaller ones, too, but lost 'em. I never caught any fish on the big ones, just the smaller ones. $20bucks a piece back then was literally highway robbery. Send me your address and I'll mail you one, or save it for ya until I head to Fork next.
