The chirp is a great technology. I had one for a short time, but SI is an invaluable tool far trumping the chirp technology. So for me, I would go with the HB.

Chirp is great for target separation. Fishing straight down or simply looking for fish its a great tool.

I agree with Jared. Mine has been great at spotting the darn 9 # bass sitting under my boat waiting patiently for the crappie I am about to throw back. however.not right now of course. Winter rules and all of that!
No really it has been a real good finder for me.
