I've only been fishing hard for the past couple of years, and I'd like to branch out and fish some of the trails out there.

Can someone point me to a nice breakdown of all the trails/organizations etc? I've done a lot of research online, but it's still a bit daunting to me and overwhelming. There's so many organizations and trails I get them all confused. Federation, BFL's, Cowboy Division etc etc...I don't even know where to start.

I THINK I like the idea of the Federation, but I'm not even sure where that starts to be honest.

Thank you for any help yall could throw my way.

Chris

Sign up as a co angler is RAM truck series or BFL. This will give you experience without completely diving head first.

Chris, look for a bass club near you or one of the lakes you like. Conroe has the Seven Coves Bass Club that is first rate, great bunch of guys and you'll get an education. BFL tournament trail Cowboy division is probably the easiest trail to follow around here for you and has the potential for the best returns, I fish it as a boater but recommend you do the first year as a co-angler. PM me and I'll answer any questions you may have.

Excellent, now go to the partner finder there and put a note up looking for a boater to guarantee your entry. Sometimes there are more co-anglers than boaters and without the guarantee you may not be able to fish

Chris,
We invite you to check out our website at www.usafishingtrails.com . We offer a variety of lakes in 4 tournament divisions around Texas. You would be able to pick a division close to your home.

Call Chris Davis at 214-616-5693 if you have any questions about the schedule or need more information.

Very good advice here.

BUT, don't assume every boater you draw is a "pro". There are some guys that enter as a boater that dang sure still need to be in the back of the boat. You'll be able to tell real quick who the guys are you need to learn from when you draw them.

Good luck and have fun!

Here's a link to the Texas BASS Nation. I'm a member of the Houston Bass Bandits, take a look.
