Has anyone ever ran a vented prop on a 250 Yamaha SHO? I have one I used as a spare on my VMAX 2 stroke and I'm curious if it will work as a spare for my SHO?

Merc Tempest Plus and Fury come with vent holes with plugs for adjusting the amount of venting. I run mine with no vent plugs on my 2 stroke 250 XS but 2 friends run the 250 SHO with the props completely plugged. I suppose its due to the increased low end torque of the 4 stroke. They said theirs would tend to "blow out" under hard acceleration with the vents open. My 2 stroke revs up a little quicker and has a better hole shot vented. Regardless, as an emergency back up I bet your vented prop would be fine. Test it out!
