I've been told that factory settings on electronics just don't cut it. The images I get on my HB998 are nowhere near those I've seen here. Has anyone put suggested custom settings for various units on the Internet?

Have you considered an electronics guide? They are pretty reasonable and you'll learn everything about your units. They'll take you put in your boat, set them all up for you and show everything that you can get out of them

There is usually some pretty good videos on Youtube about setting up. I've watched a few of them and they have some good information. There may even be some on there specific to your unit.......

I see you are from Memphis, I'm sorry, we retired from there 4 years ago, Lake Fork is GREAT

I would suggest Slade, but I don't think he travels that far away, BTW does Sardis have any water in it ?

Call Slade Daugherty he is the man on Humminbirds. He set up Aaron Martens when they were at Fork for the TTBC. You can thank me later. 817-797-8762

You can also get on you tube. There is several videos that walk you through adjusting your settings and how to clear it up. Then just get on the water and start playing with it. If that doesn't work come to fork and hire Slade!
