I always thought a weight was a weight but I am finding out that there is a lot of difference between brands of tungsten weights. Inserts or not, paint coating, etc. Before I plunk down some big dollars, I would like to hear your thoughts and what brand of tungsten weights you use and why.

I've personally used real deal posted above and protungsten.com

No insert diamond polished.....never had an issue with either supplier

These are great weights and what I have been using for awhile and no problems.

I like the reins tungsten weights with the inserts in them. The inserts are soft and easier on the line.

Do you think the painted weights are better than polished weights? I too am converting to tungsten.

I've had good luck with River A weights and APT too! Both have polished edges so they won't cut your line.

river a tackle is a TFF member and local to DFW area. He does a great job with customer service and respects quality. He inspects each weight that he packages.

Anglers Pro Tackle sell the CHEAPER than Dirt brand.. which I think he buys them overseas. I recommend for whatever brand you pick to NOT choose Painted and make sure the insert is POLISHED. The painted ones will chip and flake over time, which can cause a fray or nick. Strike king, Picasso both have good stuff but they can cost a little more.
