To those of you that have fished it a lot and have actually paid attention, do you notice any certain bait getting bit more often? Just wondered if maybe the center one was targeted more or if they just eat which ever one they can get to.

I always make the center bait different & bigger. 95% of the time it gets bit.

My opinion is that a bass just comes thru and tries to just smash the bait ball, then he's thinking he can come back and clean up. The strike is so hard, but that could be because I'm using a stiff rod and 65lb braid, but I do not notice a certain bait getting hit more than the others.

Not trying to tell you what to do...just a suggestion. I recommend trying a long rod that has a lot of back bone but isn't quite so stiff. The Hook Spit rod that we came out with for throwing 10XD crank baits is by far the best Rod for throwing the A-rig as well. I never would have thought it was true but one of the other pro-staff guys started throwing the A-rig on that rod and convinced me to try it. Ask anyone that has bought one of these rods and tried the A-rig on it. They will verify that you don't need a broom stick. I promise you will get further distance out of your A-Rig with this rod than any other.

In fact, I throw a chatter bait, big swim bait, A-rig, crank bait, and big swim jig all on that one rod. You'll be amazed at how well it handles your larger baits and how much further you can cast them.

I like the Picasso jigheads and for the money you cant beat the zoom swimming flukes

They almost never hit the top two wires, and usually hit the middle one with the big swimming fluke

Try White Ice on the Jr's and Pro Blue on the Middle one

I like baits with paddle tails. I use a different color in the middle. Usually for me the bottom bait (not the middle) gets hit most often.

Should have included in my original post that the few fish I've caught on it have all hit the center bait. Seems like it would make sense that it is getting hit more often, the trailing baitfish should be the easiest prey. Just something I was wondering about the other day.
