With all of this muddy water, I find myself throwing bright yellow and neon chartreuse spinners and chatters more often lately. What's your favorite spinnerbaits these days (type and color)? Do you modify yours, and if so, what do you think makes a difference in how they're used? Just looking for opinions out there! Thanks, Scott in Flower Mound

Well that is easy for me I custom build them. I want my spinner bait to carry all the senses that a big bass is looking for. - I like the nickle head with big eyes. Just haven't found a blank yet with larger than life eyes. Looking for a 5 mm.. We have found that bass like the shinny head better than the painted heads. I test all my spinner baits in Mexico where we can catch 100 per day. It makes for a good testing ground and just doesn't take long to know what works or doesn't. - I down size the blades. Believe me in muddy water they are still after the hatch and know everything that is putting out vibration around them. - I want the second hook keeper to put a rattle system if need be for more sound. - I only use Living Rubber Skirts and have a special combination for stained water and clear water. Stained water - 3 colors of, black/orange stripe, Chart./orange stripe with lime/white stripe on the other side, and purple/ Chart. stripe. Clear water - 3 colors of white/char. stripe, blue/black stripe, and white. I also use a different combination of colors for both application when it is cloudy and sunny. - All my living rubber skirts are saturated in Minnow Extract before hand tying them on the bait. I spray them down twice each morning while fishing. I want it leaving a scent trail in the water. - The hook is a Owner extended shank so no trailer hook is needed. - The trailer is the discontinued Stanley Pro Trailer either in White/glitter or Tomato/blue flake.

I like war eagle spinner baits the best. I throw chartreuse and white the most. Only thing I add to em is a trailer hook.

Used to be a Terminator Stainless, now I lean towards a Santone.

I like S.O.B. spinnerbaits, Johnson's and War Eagle. I like the toughness of the twisted wire on S.O.B. SBs. They are sold at TW and www.spotsticker.com You can modify the spinnerbaits when you order. Change blades, colors, and twisted or R bend SBs. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck. V&M has a spinner bait that is designed by Classic winner Cliff Pace. The hook on that spinner bait is absolutely phenomenal. Check them out.

Piney woods lures makes a great spinnerbait. Mr. Blitz if you can find them. Santone isn't the best quality but they catch fish. As far as colors I always go with some variation of white and chartreuse. Sometimes I think the blades play a bigger part than the actual colors.

War Eagle.
I fish a lot of SBs and for whatever reason I have found more often then not the War eagles just flat catch more fish period.
Dont ask why, but they do.

Used to be Heavycover. I'm still looking at options but the War Eagles are pretty good.
