This is just a simple update on Amistad... I had not been in over a year, we went this past weekend and fished Friday and Saturday... Needless to say Friday we caught 12 fish and Saturday we caught 8 fish.

Friday we fished near the 277 bridge and san pedro and the majority of our fish were actually keepers we caught about 3 dinks and the others were solid fish with 3 of them being between 3 & 4.2lbs being the biggest... Not great but compared to some people we talked to it was excellent. All of these fish were taken inside of 15ft in brush.

Saturday we fished all around castle canyon area and we had two bites from 8-10 and they were both dinks... We couldnt find a fish in that area we tried fishing deeper and nothing so we decided to go way back in the back of the creeks and we found about 6-10 males on beds or around beds... We got right above them and threw the boat at them and caught 6 of them with only 2 of them being keepers. It was a blast doing that as they would swim away and come right back...

The fishing is still tough in my opinion but we talked to atleast 5 other groups of fisherman and Friday they were prefishing and the most a boat caught was 6 fish and 2 keepers... Saturday one boat caught 8 fish the others were all 2 to 4 fish with no keepers...

How has everyone else done lately??? It is tough but seems to me it is getting better for sure we seen A TONNNNNN OF SMALL 6-8" BASS in the back of the creeks saturday just cruising around with bluegill...

Picture of a few of the keepers we caught Friday --- ALL FISH WERE RELEASED HEALTHY....

Great report! Glad to hear san Pedro is coming back. Did you see any grass in the areas you fished?

Between Sun Country and Bud Light there were several 18 to 21 pound stringers caught this weekend.
Your right about several different sizes of small bass... They should have an excellent spawn this year as there are acres and acres of flooded re-growth, lots of green salt cedars from the bank to 10 ft. And plenty of hydrilla coming on strong again. Best thing is they have not dropped the water level during the spawn.(Yet) clap

Great to see those Amistad bass. Thanks for sharing the report. How tall is the deepest grass you found?

Tallest section of grass we fished seemed to be about 6-8ft as we were fishing it in 15ft with senkos. sorry for the late reply
