We all suffer through a week or two of difficult or impossible fishing following the spawn. By far, my go to bait is the wmr baby brush hog...brand doesn't matter. Fish it very slowly around the nearest cover to the beds. Dead stick it on the bottom with an occasional twitch. The object is to leave it as close to the cover as possible for as long as possible but still show that it is alive. Works for me, hope the same for all.

Everyone is quick to say that bass do not all spawn at the same time. Would it not make sense that not all are in post spawn at same time?

I usually throw Anything that could mimic a bluegill/perch and find the bluegill spawning. I recently have started using the wacky jig heads 1/4 oz with a senko or a brush hawg

The spawn is far from over. Everybody rushes Mother Nature way to early. They spawned into June last year because of the weather and they will spawn well into May if not June this year. Caught a load of fish the other day and most have not spawned yet.
