SHHHH, not everyone needs to know this. I actually carry bottles of fingernail police and sharpies in different colors for the hard baits. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

I wonder though, If bass can "smell" garlic, and are attracted to attractants like "YUM", can't they smell paints and dyes that aren't designed to be put on bait? (I certainty can't argue with Gary Klein though)

They can "smell" it but they don't know what fingernail polish is or a sharpie is. Most of these paints just cause that reaction strike. I almost think any smell that's different from regular plastic worms would help. They always say use something different.

Add garlic salt and crawfish sent in a ziplock bag with your favorite plastic will get you some good results.
