Old school. Baby red taters, onions, carrot chunks, sweet tater chunks, corn coblets, zataran liquid plus bag plus handful of black peppercorns. Red taters take the longest, give them a ten minute head start, then add veggies and boil until almost done and add shrimp. Don't overcook.

Traditionalist here. I do crawfish boils exactly the same way my aunts did them growing up. Crawfish, taters, corn, sausage, and shrimp. Sometimes blue crab if I can find it on sale but not necessary. Bottle of boil and a bag of seasoning and more lemons than you think possible.

Corn on the cob and New Potato's..........when they are done cooking and still in the pot, throw in a bag of ice to shock the flavor into the goodies. For Real!!

You have to have the mushrooms. People who hate mushrooms eat them after this. And don't use brown potatoes like russets. They break up and make a mess. The small red ones are all you need. Don't forget to add fresh garlic, bay leaves, celery, and as Kattelyn said, all the lemons you think u need. I add about 10. Carrots, brussel sprouts, broccoli & pineapples, I've seen added.

If your in the DFW area, you have to try the Boiling Crab or Tasty Tails. It's an asian spin on boil seafood.

Yes mushrooms are a must, don't cut your taters up, that helps them stay together.

Not with the bugs and everything but we've done artichokes as well, kind of an appetizer for the "cooks". More or less as a gauge for the seasoning.
