I'm going to be in the Corpus Christi area week after next and want to pick up some fresh shrimp to bring home. Looking for any leads on where to buy from your previous experiences. Looking for jumbo or prawn size for frying.

i think the bay season is closed right now. if you're driving, you might come back thru Rockport or Pt Lavaca or Palacous(sp) and get em from the markets there. just ask around at the harbor.

By the way, completely unrelated but there's a gentleman over near the Big Tree in Lamar that sells fresh home grown quail, pheasant, and eggs. I can't find his info but he's worth a stop. Head to the Big Tree and you should see signs for the quail farm. I haven't been there in a year, but it was very very good and he's a character.

Oh, another place that's freaking amazing is Alby's. Head north on 35 and when you're in town, 3402 Hwy 35. Rockport 78382. Extremely fresh. Get an oyster poboy.
