Anyone ever fix a Transom

I think the transom on my 86 Ranger is bad. It has a lot of flex and when I tap on it with a solid object it has a hollow sound. Is there any way to fix it without taking the top cap off.

Thanks for the info CADD. I was looking for someone on here that has used a product I've heard about that is mixed and poured between the fiberglass after you remove the rotted wood. I can't remember the name of it or if it worked for them. It seems like I read about it on the TFF, but I'm not sure.

Sea cast is the product. I haven't use it but some good reports.
