Need to find a way to join, and make water tight, 3/4 inch hose that's really stiff (Automotive) to 5/8 inch flex hose that's going into a bilge pump. I tried yesterday and when I turn on my bilge it pumps...but it's kind of like drinking through a straw with a crack in it. It pumps very slowly and leaks through that joined area. Tips?

Get a 3/4” to 5/8” Hose mender and join them. The stiff one really should be replaced, but if your not going to, use some sort of sealant/adhesive like 4200 to help seal it.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Aluminum-3-4-to-5-8-Hose-Adapter-Connector-Reducer-2-Pack/173199154899?hash=item2853795ed3:g:WnEAAOSwXY5ZS7z9&vxp=mtr

Ebay, two for 12 dollars. Just use a hose clamp on each end.
You can probably find something like this in plastic at Home Depot.

You don't need sealant.

It’s a good adhesive/sealer, 3M-4200.

Thank you. I'll go to the hardware store and try to find an adapter that fits both hoses perfectly and tight. I'll get a little of this sealant and put some on the adapter before I clamp the hoses down as tight as I can. Hopefully this does the trick.
