Anyone have any DIY experience making plastic windshield that requires some bending & curving?

Thanks Gary. My boat is too old for OEM type equipment, you saying try to find one that's close to what I need?

Same boat in pictures, just different windshield types?

See if they have what you need. Trying to bend your own will just be frustrating and cost you more money.

Gamblinman:

Slightly different models in pis but both share same consoles. My boat is identical to one in bottom pic, but has factory windshield seen in top pic. The blue boat was a custom job.

Thanks for the link. Looks like mine would be custom and probably too rico for me...but I'll send some measurements and see.

I've done it in our sign shop. It's time consuming to do properly. I basically have to build a mold from a template that can withstand heat. Cut the acrylic to match template then place over mold and place in oven. It will take a day and about $150 in materials

Don't cheap out on the mounting.. where it attaches to the boat... you don't want to break it off if you grab it when walking through it and grab the top...

you'll say you won't grab it... but you will... I've had this type of windshield on several of my boats.. I've had the screws loosen, but have been lucky when I thought it was broken after putting a hand on the corner when walking through in rough water...

good luck with the project!
