I have a Mercury 3.0L 225 EFI. Earlier this fall while I out running I started getting an audible alarm. The alarm would beeps 4 times and then quit for a couple of minutes then starts beeping again. I did some searching online and and figured out that this is the alarm for oil level. I checked the oil level and verified that it was fine. I then suspected the oil float switch must be bad so I changed that part out but the alarm is still going on.
Has anyone else had this problem and/or know what the fix is?
Thanks!

No it does not run hot. Just the 4 alarms every few minutes which Mercury says is oil level indication.

Water is indicated in the fuel is the same alarm on some of the 225`s. It is pretty easy to disconnect the wires going to the oil tank to tell if that is what is causing the alarm.

More than likely you have a engine mounted oil tank level sensor problem. You can jump the wires to the sensor and turn key on and wait a few min.. if no alarm. Replace engine mounted oil tank has float sensor in tank. $80 fix. I had the same problem this summer. 2003 225 efi

I did more searching today and ran across this video. I plan to do this test and see if it matches my issue. I'm going to call them next week and see if they can give me any more details. Ill follow up and let you guys know if this solves the problem. https://www.perfprotech.com/blog/marine-...every-2-minutes

I called in and talked to them www.perfprotech.com today and ordered the new reservoir with the float switch in it. They were very helpful and said thsi is a common issue with that reservoir design. I'm planning to swap it out as soon as the part arrives and will follow up on this thread if it fixes the issue.
