Anyone have a guesstimate about how much it will cost to replace the drive shaft bearing in the lower unit on a 05 Optimax 225.

I have never seen that work out. The shaft and or housing will be damaged. Get a replacement new lower unit. Couple of places to get one SEI and Anglers Marine
