My gauge started reading "no oil" the last time I took the boat out. Ive took it to a boat service place to run some cables and also asked them to check out the "no oil" reading for me. But since they are not a Suzuki dealer, they cant run diagnostic to find the exact problem. They checked to make sure there was no oil leaking anywhere and there is plenty of clean oil in the engine. The engine runs like there is nothing wrong with it. They said the sensor probably just need to be replaced. So I went home and ordered the only oil sensor I found on boat.net. Which was the oil pressure sensor. What do you guys think? Did I buy the right sensor? Is there another sensor that I need to look into?

Just in case I cant seem to fix this myself, do you know where I can get it checked out and fixed? I did a google search and really didn't find any near Frisco, where I live. There is one in Gainsville which is somewhat close to my boat storage, which is in Pottsboro, but it is out of the way for me. Google also listed 3 more in the Ft Worth Area with one being Cabelas, called all 3 with no one answering. Not sure why I cant get through to Cabelas.

Once that alarm goes off it has to be reset. Turn key to on, push emergency kill twice then turn key off (I think) Should be able to google the alarm re-set.

You didn't say if you had a 2 or 4 stroke. Gary is correct that you should reset the alarm and see if it goes off again. I do know that I worked on one Suzuki that had a different reset procedure than all the other models. The catch is I forget which model that was... When I ran into that issue requiring reset, even the Suzuki customer service guys missed it the first time around. If you don't find the reset procedure in the manual, call Suzuki and tell them you want the specific procedure for your model motor. I got bitten badly by that; they even apologized right and left for missing it.

Thanks for you guys responses. Its a 4 stroke. I didn't think to try to reset because there really wasn't any alarms going off or a oil light flashing. It just says No Oil. But I will try that tomorrow. I think I saw something on resetting oil light on youtube the other day. If I cant get it, I think I am just going to take it to North Texas Marine in Gainesville.

We have a Suzuki 150 four stroke as well. How old is the motor?

They have an oil life system like most newer cars do. The oil light is set to go off every year to change the oil. If the motor runs fine and level read full then reset it like gary said.

Ours did the same thing in our maiden voyage to the coast hauling but across the bay... talk about a pucker factor... thank God for smart phones and goodle we were down for 10 minutes read about it reset it and rolled on its never come back on.

Its a 2007. I ended up taking the boat to North Texas Marine in Gainesville before I could get a hold of the guy I bought the boat from. When he finally called me back, I have already agreed to some @$$ raping annual service on the motor. Ended up the gauge that is on my boat is for a 2 stroke engine. So it will always read no oil. After he told me that over the phone, I realized that he did mentioned that when we took the boat for a test drive before buying it. But I was too excited to pay attention. LoL! Oh well.
