1998 Evinrude 225 primer solenoid problem. Engine runs ok if Red Lever is at 12 o'clock. In order to start engine, the Red Lever needs to be down at 6 o'clock position. This has to be done by hand. The Service Manual says Red Lever needs to be UP at 12 o'clock to run. Any suggestions??

Make sure it is being activated by the ign. switch when pushed in. If it is a new enrichment solenoid.

It was clicking fine. Decided to get the rebuild kit and try that. Bingo. Ran great after that. Thanks!
