There was a post a few days ago about Game Wardens walking the marinas looking for expired registration. I saw them doing it at my marina on Lake Travis. it looks like TPWD is running short on money again. There's no reason not to be properly registered at $18 every two years. Money, money, where's all the money?

While I agree boats on the public waters should be registered, Bob needs to receck facts. $18, really? For what boat?
If your boat is less than 16 feet in length, your fee is $32.00 If 16 feet but less than 26 feet in length, your fee is $53.00 If 26 feet but less than 40 feet in length, your fee is $110.00 If 40 feet in length and over, your fee is $150.00

Congrats, you win. The point is, registration is required by law and if you do not do it you deserve to get ticketed and I hope you do.
