I have a 2007 2 stroke mercury efi 150. Just put 3 brand new batteries in and had it "serviced by tracker marine" but now having issues its never had before. The motor will beep and shut down when idling and when cruising not on plane. On plane the motor runs pretty much fine but did make a beeping alarm once but did not shut down the motor, I shut it down after that. It also feels like its kind of choking down when at idling speeds and progressively gets worse and takes 2 times to turn over when it used to just fire up. At one point during the day yesterday the motor would not start or turn over at all and couldn't even trim the motor from the motor or console (no power). I took the wires off the cranking battery to see if there was a loose connection didn't see anything but thankfully it started back up. The only thing I can think of is that there is some loose wiring somewhere or maybe due to the fact that I stupidly put about a liter of 4 stroke oil a little while back. One last thing the graph on the stern turns on but the screen is blank, it does seem to work after being turned on after a while.. So Ive got no idea any thoughts?

The beep is indicating you are losing 12v power. Look to make sure all of the battery connections are clean and tight.Check where the motor controls get power from the starter solenoid.

Thanks for the advice. My gauges are old and don't always read out but I have noticed on my sonar will say low voltage on start up it is he said low voltage so I'm just going to replace all the connections and fuses and see if that does it thanks again

Hey Gary, seems your the man to talk to according to the other forum I posted this on. I'm going to clean all the connections and wanted to get your advice about the 4 stroke motor oil issue. I put about a liter in the reservoir and have ran 3-4 times. The oil reservoir is about half full, wanted to see if you'd recommend emptying the rest of the reevoir or fill the rest with the 2 stroke oil and maybe dilute it? Also so do you have or know of a dcarb tutorial? Thanks for any advice, Brandon

I would pull the main tank, empty it, clean the screen on the pickup and re-fill with 2 cycle oil. Best de-carb I know of is to squirt 4-5 shots of Marvel Mystery oil from an oil can into each sparkplug hole, let set overnight before running, then start adding Sea Foam to the fuel. Don`t think I would try to empty and clean the motor reservoir unless you have a way to suck it out, then refill with 2 cycle oil .
