Was wondering if anybody might have a good guess of what the squeeling noise in my engine might be. Or maybe know off hand a couple of things that they have found in the past that have caused a similar noise during the same scenario. Not sure and I know it's not easy troubleshooting from a video. But anyways, in the video, the engine is running and in neutral. When I lower the engine it starts squeeling. When I tilt the engine up it stops squeeling. Putting the engine in forward or reverse changes nothing. My guess is a bearing going out but I am hoping that maybe a bearing just has some grit or something in it and will eventually go away. ( positive thinking lol ) At this point there is no irregular engine vibrations noticed and I am planning on running the boat around the lake for a few times to see if it dissappears but then again I'm not real sure about that either. And just so everyone knows the engine is a 2003 Evinrude Ficht 250.

Top bearing in the lower unit is my guess.

Okay Mr. Purdy I will look into that. Makes sense now that you have said that and your comment has now energized me for the next couple of checks. I will dig in and inspect tomorrow evening and post back.
