I have an old aluminum boat that is in good shape other than a rotten transom. Someone tried to repair by cutting open a large flap of the aluminum, putting in some new wood, then putting a 1/4 inch steel plate. Transom still flex badly with just minimal weight. Im sure its rotten top to bottom, side to side.

I dont mind spending the time getting all of the rotten wood out, and buying and pouring the SEACAST, if it will work,. and will last. As I get older, Im tired of doing things twice. I rather spend a little more and get it right the first time.
Once repaired the boat will have a small to medium weight motor, not even close to its max hp or weight rating. Just a putt around might get on plane boat . any comments appreciated. thanks

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

I did mine last year. I dind't use seacast, I went with another brand. I just chose it because the price was good and I liked how it was suppose to work a little better than dealing with seacast ex: I could pour mine into a damp transom as water did not effect it. Other than prep, they are very similar products. It was easy to do. The hard work is removing the rotting wood depending on the wood condition. Pretty straight forward. Watch the videos and they show exactly how it is done.

1. remove old wood
2. clean and dry area
3. mix and pour

Could do it in a weekend depending on how long it takes you to remove the old stuff.

My transom is rock hard now. No flex even after I added another 80 lbs to the transom. I can stand on it (250lbs) and still no flex. It will never rot so you should never have to mess with it again.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions and I'll help with what I can.

did mine in seacast, use the fiber they have and it will never give you another problem. you will need the aluminum bonding agent they sell.
