 two questions one motor(1987 johnson 90)

My wife picked up a boat on Friday, the trim motor won't activate and the power lift jack plate has the wires cut going into the housing. My questions are how do I troubleshoot both items. The relays click for the trim but I don't see any controls for the jackplate any help would be appreciated

The jack plate should have relays for it as well if its hydraulic. If there are no wires your gonna have to get that resolved to test it. Im gonna guess its broke and previous owner decided not to fix so they cut the wire. Your trim motor may be bad, someone a little more experienced will be along with more insite.

Hey bro, bring it over to my place this week or weekend and let's troubleshoot it. In betting we can get it going or at least find out the problem and get it fixed. I have the OMC manual and we can at least check the motor and wiring. Plus we can swap out some parts from my motor if needed to see what might be wrong with your motor.

Got the trim working..sent an email to cmc to see what I can do to troubleshoot the jackplate
